I enjoyed many of Elizabeth Caddell's gentle books -- and then read "A Lion In The Way". I think you have to have read a lot of her books before, to really "get" the full weight of her portrait of India, and Ghandi. It was heartbreaking
. I am actually in the middle of trying to find pieces of her childhood to potentially use in a Sunday School course that mentions Ghandi and simplicity. Her descriptions made those times come alive.

Anna, You would probably enjoy reading Sun in the Morning, which is one of Elizabeth Cadell's early books about her childhood in India.

I loved Elizabeth Cadell and thought I had read most of her books, only to find there are a lot more. That excites me. She always entertained, brought a lot of things together and tied up the string, made me laugh so much. I would meditate on the book when I finished, then grab another one and off and running......wonderful characters ie.Money to burn, arround the rugged rock, yellow brick road, lovely lovely lovely!

Laughed all the way through Greenwood Shady which I was reading as a trial on Cadell. I am finishing up on D.E. Stevenson and will now delve into Elizabeth Cadell with anticipation of more laughs!

how exciting to read all the messages. I have been a fan for forty years I'm currentley reading all her wonderfull books again unfortunately our public library has only twelve titles . and I poor soul have only 1 title what a dilemma need help quickly as i am over the hill and sliding down . happily anticipating emails thank you very very very much yvonne have a great day.

currently reading all her books for the zillionth time. many are not available in public library would love to find earlier titles and would also like to know if ms cadell is still alive and writing. have been a fan since1970 .please e mail me thank you very much happily anticipating.and waiting.
